A 5.1 magnitude quake was reported near Balleny Islands region Monday evening, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which hit the area at 09:48 UTC (20:48 local time), was centered of Balleny Islands region. It occurred at a depth of 10 km. The magnitude was originally reported as 5.0 but later upgraded to 5.1.
