LIFOU, Loyalty Islands Province — A 5.0 magnitude quake occurred southeast of the Loyalty Islands on Tuesday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which rattled the region at 05:20 UTC (16:20 local time), was centered southeast of the Loyalty Islands of southeast of the Loyalty Islands. It occurred at a depth of 10 km.
