Update: Earthquake rattles region near Kuril’sk, Russia on Feb. 26 – 5.0 magnitude recorded

The U.S. Geological Survey reported that a 5.0 magnitude quake occurred close to Kuril’sk Thursday morning.

The tremor jolted the area at 17:04 UTC (03:04 local time). It occurred at a depth of 10 km with the epicenter located roughly 274 km southeast of Kuril’sk.
