SINDIRGI, Balıkesir — Monday afternoon, a 5.1 magnitude quake was reported close to Sındırgı, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which shook the region at 12:35 UTC (15:35 local time), was centered roughly 21 km east-southeast of Sındırgı. It occurred at a depth of 10 km. The magnitude was originally reported as 5.0 but later upgraded to 5.1.
