5.0 magnitude earthquake detected close to East Pacific Rise on Aug. 28

A 5.0 magnitude quake occurred close to East Pacific Rise on Friday evening, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The tremor rattled the area at 02:39 UTC (19:39 local time). It occurred at a depth of 10 km with the epicenter north of East Pacific Rise.
