2.4 magnitude earthquake struck close to Shingletown, CA on July 12

SHASTA COUNTY, CA — A preliminary 2.4 magnitude quake was reported near Shingletown Saturday night, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor shook the area at 9:09 p.m. It occurred at a depth of 8 miles with the epicenter positioned approximately 7 miles west of Shingletown.
