MINERAL COUNTY, NV — According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a preliminary 2.0 magnitude quake shook near Hawthorne Saturday afternoon.

It was reported that a tremor struck the region at 5:45 p.m. The epicenter was positioned approximately 1 mile south of Hawthorne, at a depth of just 2 miles.
