According to the National Hurricane Center’s 4 p.m. Wednesday advisory, Tropical Storm Fernand is in the Atlantic Ocean, 585 miles south-southeast of Cape Race Newfoundland. Packing maximum sustained winds of 50 mph, it is tracking east-northeast at 15 mph.

“Slight weakening is expected during the next day or so”, analysts observed. They also said “Fernand is forecast to become post-tropical on Thursday and then dissipate by early Friday.”
