Waterloo Black Hawks win against Des Moines Buccaneers in overtime

It was a long and winding road for the Waterloo Black Hawks against the Des Moines Buccaneers in the game on Tuesday, March 24, 2025.

Waterloo won in overtime 4-3.

Waterloo’s Chase Jette scored the game-winning goal.

The Buccaneers started off strong and took the lead early in the game with Ryan Seelinger scoring in the first period, assisted by Jacob Jastrzebski and Peyton Blair.

The Black Hawks tied the game 1-1 in the first period when Hunter Ramos struck, assisted by Grady Deering and Reid Daavettila.

The Black Hawks took the lead with a goal from Chase Jette late in the first period, assisted by Easton Hewson.

Richard Baran scored early in the second period, assisted by Jacob Jastrzebski and Andrew Clarke.

Chase Jette took the lead with a goal halfway through the third period, assisted by Michael Phelan and Easton Hewson.

Theo Kiss tied it up 3-3 with a goal one minute later, assisted by Andrew Clarke. The game went to overtime.

In overtime, it took 4:06 before Chase Jette scored the game-winner for the team, assisted by Hunter Ramos and Michael Phelan.

With this win the Black Hawks have four straight victories.
