The Met Office has announced an updated Yellow fog warning for several regions across the UK for Wednesday.
The warning is covering parts of East Midlands, East of England, London and South East England, South West England. All local areas affected are listed below.
An updated Yellow weather alert is in effect on Wednesday, starting from around midnight and running until 10am. The forecast indicates significantly reduced visibility due to dense fog in the affected regions.
The updated Yellow alert for fog was announced at 4:43am on Wednesday, December 17.
A Met Office forecast said: “Fog patches will affect parts of central and southeast England on Thursday morning. Some areas will not see fog, but where it does form it may be dense in places with visibility below 100 metres, leading to difficult travel conditions. Fog will slowly clear from the west after dawn but may linger until mid morning in the east of the warning area.”

What should you do in hazy conditions?
Give yourself the best chance of avoiding delays by checking road conditions if driving, leaving extra journey time, or amending plans if necessary. What is an updated yellow weather warning?
The Met Office has three categories of weather warning, depending on the likely impact of severe weather and also how likely it is to strike in a particular area.
A yellow warning is issued when weather conditions are expected to disrupt travel and traffic and may impact on daily routines but are not likely to pose a risk to life or property.
An amber warning is more severe and advises people to think about changing their plans to minimise the risk.
A red warning means weather conditions are expected to be dangerous with widespread damage to property and a risk to life, with the public usually advised to avoid travelling.
The Yellow weather alert for fog will remain in place until 10am on Wednesday.
