Update: Seismic activity on June 24 – 5.7 magnitude earthquake near Punta Cana, Dominican Republic registered

HIGÜEY, La Altagracia Province—According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.7 magnitude quake occurred close to Punta Cana Tuesday night.

The tremor shook the area at 02:45 UTC (21:45 local time). It occurred at a depth of 68 km with the epicenter located roughly 77 km north-northeast of Punta Cana.
