According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.0 magnitude quake occurred close to Carlsberg Ridge at midday on Monday.

At 09:42 UTC (13:42 local time), the region was struck by a tremor. The earthquake rattled at a depth of 10 km, with its epicenter near Carlsberg Ridge. The magnitude was originally reported as 4.9 but later upgraded to 5.0.
