Update: July 16 – 5.2 magnitude earthquake detected close to Sand Point, AK

ALEUTIANS EAST BOROUGH, AK—the U.S. Geological Survey reported that a 5.2 magnitude quake occurred near Sand Point at midday on Wednesday.

It was reported that a tremor shook the region at 10:10 p.m. (11:10 a.m. local time). The epicenter was situated approximately 66 miles south-southeast of Sand Point, at a depth of 14 miles.
