Update: July 13 – 2.7 magnitude earthquake reported close to Olancha, CA

INYO COUNTY, CA — According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a preliminary 2.7 magnitude quake rattled near Olancha Sunday morning.

It was reported that a tremor shook the region at 8:45 a.m. The epicenter was located approximately 7 miles south-southwest of Olancha, at a depth of just 1 mile.

Olancha shaken twice past week

Last week, there were two quakes, above magnitude 2.5, centered in the area. Both measured 4.0 maginude and were recorded in the same area. One of them occurred prior to this quake, and the other on July 13.
