ESMERALDA COUNTY, NV — Sunday afternoon, a 3.4 magnitude quake was recorded close to Silver Peak, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which shook the area at 6:55 p.m., was centered roughly 12 miles south-southwest of Silver Peak. It occurred at a depth of 4 miles.
