BARÚ DISTRICT, CHIRIQUÍ — According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 6.2 magnitude quake occurred near Burica around midday Monday.

It was reported that a tremor slammed the region at 17:16 UTC (11:16 local time). The epicenter was situated roughly 206 km south of Burica, at a depth of 10 km.
