Update: Earthquake measuring 7.4 devastates area near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Russia on July 20

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 7.4 magnitude quake occurred near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Sunday afternoon.

It was reported that a tremor slammed the region at 06:49 UTC (17:49 local time). The epicenter was located roughly 144 km east of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, at a depth of 20 km.
