Update: Earthquake measuring 5.0 shakes area near Camiña, Chile on July 10

PARINACOTA PROVINCE, Arica y Parinacota — A 5.0 magnitude quake was recorded near Camiña Thursday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

At 09:26 UTC (05:26 local time), the region was struck by a tremor. The earthquake hit at a depth of 123 km, with its epicenter approximately 54 km northeast of Camiña. The magnitude was originally reported as 5.1 but later downgraded to 5.0.
