SAN BENITO COUNTY, CA — the U.S. Geological Survey reported that a 3.7 magnitude quake occurred near Pinnacles Saturday morning.
The tremor rattled at 1:31 a.m., with its epicenter situated about 3 miles east of Pinnacles and a depth of 7 miles.

Those who noticed the earthquake are encouraged to report it via the USGS Felt Report form. The agency has received 16 responses on its online form so far, from people reporting they experienced the quake. According to the USGS DYFI report, weak shaking was recorded and people in several cities—including Carmel, Seaside and Soledad—reported feeling the tremor.

Last week’s quake
In the past week, there was one quake of magnitude 2.5 centered in the area, which was recorded close to Pinnacles seven days earlier.
