Update: Earthquake hits region close to Sand Point, AK on July 20 – 6.2 magnitude reported

ALEUTIANS EAST BOROUGH, AK—A 6.2 magnitude quake was detected near Sand Point Sunday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor rocked the area at 10:28 p.m. (2:28 p.m. local time). It occurred at a depth of 29 miles with the epicenter situated approximately 50 miles south-southeast of Sand Point.
