SAN BENITO COUNTY, CA — According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 3.5 magnitude quake rattled near Pinnacles Saturday morning.
At 1:31 a.m., the region was jolted by a tremor. The earthquake struck at a depth of 7 miles, with its epicenter about 4 miles east of Pinnacles.

Those who felt the quake are encouraged to report it through the USGS Felt Report form. So far, the agency has collected 16 online responses from individuals saying that they felt the tremor. The USGS DYFI report indicates that people in cities such as Carmel, Seaside and Soledad experienced weak shaking during the earthquake.

Last week’s quake
A magnitude 2.5 quake was registered in the area over the last week; it struck close to Pinnacles seven days ago.
