At 4 a.m. Thursday, the National Hurricane Center released its first advisory of the day for the system, stating that Tropical Depression Cristobal is in the Atlantic Ocean, 610 miles west of the Azores. The system, with maximum sustained winds of 35 mph, is moving to the northeast at 16 mph.

Cristobal is expected to weaken into a dissipation today (Thursday).
