The NWS Fort Worth TX issued an updated severe thunderstorm warning at 7:02 p.m. on Sunday in effect until 7:45 p.m. The warning is for Dallas, Denton and Tarrant counties.

Wind gusts of up to 60 mph and penny-sized hail (0.75 inches) are expected.

At 7:02 p.m., the National Weather Service reported a severe thunderstorm positioned over Highland Village, advancing southward at a speed of 20 mph. The storm poses a risk of causing damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

The thunderstorm is expected to potentially impact several locations. Around 7:05 p.m., Lewisville, Flower Mound, Highland Village, Hickory Creek, Double Oak, Bartonville, and Copper Canyon may experience effects. By 7:15 p.m., Grapevine and Coppell could be affected, followed by Irving and DFW International Airport at approximately 7:25 p.m., and Farmers Branch around 7:45 p.m. Additional areas that could be impacted include Oak Point, Lewisville Lake, Lakewood Village, Grapevine Lake, and Westlake.

The weather service advises taking shelter inside a sturdy structure and staying away from windows for safety.
