An updated weather alert was issued by the NWS Fort Worth TX on Monday at 5:27 a.m. for strong thunderstorms until 6:15 a.m. for Denton and Tarrant counties.

Residents can anticipate wind gusts of up to 30 mph.

At 5:26 a.m., the weather service reported that Doppler radar detected a strong thunderstorm over Roanoke, near Keller, moving southeast at 10 mph. Gusty winds from this storm have the potential to knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.

Strong thunderstorms are expected in the following locations:

• Fort Worth, Keller, Southlake, and Trophy Club around 5:30 a.m.

• Watauga and North Richland Hills around 5:35 a.m.

• Colleyville around 5:40 a.m.

• Hurst around 5:45 a.m.

Other areas that could be affected by the storm include Westlake, Marshall Creek, and Grapevine Lake. This system impacts Interstate 35W between mile markers 60 and 74.

The weather service advises that if you are outdoors, you should consider seeking shelter inside a building.
