The Eastern Plains placed under a fire weather watch Monday – enhanced fire threat

At 12:28 p.m. on Friday, the National Weather Service issued a fire weather watch valid for Monday between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. for Northern El Paso County including Monument and Black Forest, Southern El Paso County including Fort Carson and Colorado Springs, Pueblo County including Pueblo, Huerfano County including Walsenburg and Western Las Animas County including Trinidad and Thatcher.

A fire weather watch means that critical fire weather conditions are possible. Listen for later forecasts and possible red flag warnings.
