Southampton and Aston Villa met on Saturday at St. Mary’s Stadium. Aston Villa came into the game off the back of a run of three successive wins in the Premier League and made no mistake to claim yet another vicory. The match finished 3-0.

The first half finished 0-0, and it took until the 73rd minute before Ollie Watkins gave Aston Villa the lead as he netted.

Donyell Malen increased Aston Villa’s lead in the 79th minute.

Aston Villa further increased the lead as John McGinn found the net in the 90th minute.

The game was the eighth in a row without a win for Southampton.

It leaves Aston Villa in fifth place and that Southampton are in 20th and last place.

The previous meeting between the teams ended in a 1-0 home win for Aston Villa in December.
