Severe thunderstorm warning for Johnson and Tarrant counties Saturday afternoon

On Saturday at 2:07 p.m. a severe thunderstorm warning was released by the NWS Fort Worth TX in effect until 2:45 p.m. for Johnson and Tarrant counties.

The storms are foreseen to bring wind gusts of up to 60 mph and quarter-sized hail (1 inch).

The NWS said that at 2:07 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located over Cross Timber, or over Burleson, moving east at 45 mph. Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

The thunderstorm is projected to possibly affect the following locations:

• Fort Worth, Burleson, Crowley, Rendon, and Cross Timber around 2:10 p.m.

• Mansfield around 2:15 p.m.

Other locations impacted by this severe thunderstorm include Briaroaks, Lillian, and Egan. This includes Interstate 35W between mile markers 28 and 42.

For your protection get inside a sturdy structure and stay away from windows. Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning can kill.
