ALEUTIANS WEST CENSUS AREA, AK — Saturday morning, a 5.4 magnitude quake was registered close to Nikolski, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

A tremor struck the area at 8:40 p.m. (9:40 a.m. local time). The earthquake’s epicenter was situated about 51 miles south-southwest of Nikolski and occurred at a depth of 19 miles.
