ALEUTIANS WEST CENSUS AREA, AK — According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.2 magnitude quake shook close to Nikolski Thursday morning.

The tremor jolted at 7:54 p.m. (8:54 a.m. local time), with its epicenter located roughly 57 miles south-southwest of Nikolski and a depth of 25 miles. Seismologists first reported it as a 5.1 event, but later upgraded it to 5.2.
