Update: Seismic activity on Sept. 3 – 5.3 magnitude earthquake near Vilyuchinsk, Russia detected

Wednesday afternoon, a 5.3 magnitude quake was reported close to Vilyuchinsk, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor jolted at 03:38 UTC (14:38 local time), with its epicenter located approximately 180 km south-southeast of Vilyuchinsk and a depth of 14 km.
