A 5.1 magnitude quake occurred near South Sandwich Islands region on Friday evening, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The tremor shook the area at 21:08 UTC (19:08 local time). It occurred at a depth of 155 km with the epicenter of South Sandwich Islands region.
