Update: Earthquake measuring 5.0 hits area close to Pond Inlet, Canada on July 31

QIKIQTAALUK REGION, NU — Thursday morning, a 5.0 magnitude quake was detected near Pond Inlet, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor rattled the region at 14:55 UTC (09:55 local time). It occurred at a depth of 10 km with the epicenter located approximately 206 km northeast of Pond Inlet.
