Seismic activity on July 30: Earthquake close to Vilyuchinsk, Russia detected – magnitude 5.0

The U.S. Geological Survey reported that a 5.0 magnitude quake struck near Vilyuchinsk around midday Wednesday.

The tremor hit the area at 00:27 UTC (11:27 local time). It occurred at a depth of 10 km with the epicenter situated roughly 174 km southeast of Vilyuchinsk.
