Friday morning, a 5.0 magnitude quake was detected near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which shook the area at 23:15 UTC (10:15 local time), was centered about 122 km east-southeast of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. It occurred at a depth of 10 km.
