Update: Earthquake rattles region close to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Russia on July 21 – 5.0 magnitude detected

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.0 magnitude quake struck near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Monday morning.

The tremor jolted the area at 16:50 UTC (03:50 local time). It occurred at a depth of 27 km with the epicenter located approximately 156 km southeast of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
