Seismic activity on July 20: Earthquake near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Russia registered – magnitude 5.2

A 5.2 magnitude quake was recorded near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Sunday afternoon, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The tremor struck at 06:31 UTC (17:31 local time), with its epicenter situated about 152 km east of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and a depth of 10 km.

In the past week, there was another tremor of magnitude 2.5 centered nearby, which was detected close to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky too, prior to this quake.
