IMPERIAL COUNTY, CA — Friday morning, a preliminary 2.3 magnitude quake was registered close to Calipatria, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

It was reported that a tremor struck the region at 4:26 a.m. The epicenter was positioned approximately 8 miles west-northwest of Calipatria, at a depth of just 3 miles.
