A 5.2 magnitude quake was registered near Finschhafen Monday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor jolted the area at 00:42 UTC (10:42 local time). It occurred at a depth of 176 km with the epicenter situated approximately 102 km north of Finschhafen. Seismologists first reported it as a 5.4 event, but later downgraded it to 5.2.
