On Tuesday at 2:32 p.m. the National Weather Service released an updated red flag warning in effect until 8 p.m. for Southeast Elbert County below 6,000 feet/South Lincoln County.
Expect winds to be southwest 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph and relative humidity as low as 12%.
“Conditions will be favorable for rapid fire spread. Avoid outdoor burning and any activity that may produce a spark and start a wildfire,” states the NWS.
