On Friday at 9:37 a.m. a red flag warning was released by the National Weather Service valid between noon and 9 p.m. for Southern El Paso County including Fort Carson and Colorado Springs.

Residents can expect winds to be southwest 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph and relative humidity as low as 10 percent.

“Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended,” adds the NWS.
