On Monday at 12:01 p.m. the National Weather Service issued a red flag warning valid for Tuesday between 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. for White River and Colorado River Headwaters as well as Routt County.

The NWS states that the warning was issued for gusty winds, low relative humidity and dry fuels. Expect winds to be west 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph and relative humidity 7 to 12%.

“Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended,” says the NWS.
