At 7:01 p.m. on Wednesday, the National Weather Service released an updated red flag warning valid for Thursday between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. for Southern El Paso County including Fort Carson and Colorado Springs, Pueblo County including Pueblo, Western Las Animas County including Trinidad and Thatcher and Eastern Las Animas County including Pinon Canyon.
Residents can expect winds to be west 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph and relative humidity as low as 11 percent.
“Fires will catch and spread quickly. Exercise extreme caution with any outdoor burning,” explains the NWS.
