At 6:12 p.m. on Thursday, the National Weather Service released an updated red flag warning valid for Friday between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. for Teller County/Rampart Range including Pikes Peak and Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument.
Winds are expected to be northwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph and relative humidity as low as 10%.
“Fires will catch and spread quickly. Exercise extreme caution with any outdoor burning,” explains the NWS.
