At 3:19 a.m. on Sunday, the National Weather Service released a red flag warning valid between noon and 8 p.m. for Central and Southeast Park County.
The NWS states that the warning was issued for wind and low relative humidity. Residents can expect winds to be southwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph and relative humidity as low as 8 percent.
“Conditions will be favorable for rapid fire spread. Avoid outdoor burning and any activity that may produce a spark and start a wildfire,” explains the NWS.
