Pueblo County placed under a dust storm warning Tuesday afternoon

On Tuesday at 2:14 p.m. a dust storm warning was released by the National Weather Service in effect until 2:45 p.m. for Pueblo County.

“At 2:14 p.m., a dust channel was near Blende, or near Pueblo, moving northeast at 45 mph,” says the NWS. “I-25.”

Locations impacted by the warning include Pueblo, Pueblo Airport, Boone, Pueblo Reservoir, Salt Creek, Blende, Avondale, Pueblo Depot and Pueblo West.

“Dangerous life-threatening travel,” states the NWS. “Dust storms lead to dangerous driving conditions with visibility reduced to near zero. If driving, avoid dust storms if possible. If caught in one, pull off the road, turn off your lights and keep your foot off the brake.”
