Ozone pollution alert affecting North Texas Thursday

At 2:20 p.m. on Wednesday, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality reported an air quality alert in effect until Thursday at 5:30 p.m. The alert is for Wise, Denton, Collin, Parker, Tarrant, Dallas, Hood, Johnson, Hunt, Rockwall, Kaufman, Ellis and Henderson counties.

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality said it issued an Ozone Action Day for the Dallas-Fort Worth area for Thursday, October 16, 2025. Atmospheric conditions are expected to be favorable for producing high levels of ozone air pollution in the Dallas-Fort Worth area on Thursday. To help prevent ozone pollution, people can share a ride, walk, ride a bicycle, take their lunch to work, avoid drive-through lanes, conserve energy, and keep their vehicles properly tuned.
