The U.S. Geological Survey reported that a 5.2 magnitude quake jolted near Finschhafen Thursday afternoon.

The tremor, which struck the area at 04:07 UTC (14:07 local time), was centered roughly 51 km east of Finschhafen. It occurred at a depth of 62 km.
