A 5.0 magnitude quake was recorded close to Yamada Sunday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which shook the area at 22:04 UTC (08:04 local time), was centered approximately 141 km east of Yamada. It occurred at a depth of 10 km. Seismologists first reported it as a 5.1 event, but later downgraded it to 5.0.
