The U.S. Geological Survey reported that a 5.0 magnitude quake jolted close to Mid-Atlantic Ridge Friday night.

The tremor rattled the area at 23:21 UTC (22:21 local time). It occurred at a depth of 10 km with the epicenter located south of Mid-Atlantic Ridge.
