Update: North Fork and Routt County placed under a fire weather watch Monday – high fire danger

Published Aug 3, 2025

On Saturday at 6:56 p.m. the National Weather Service released an updated fire weather watch valid for Monday between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m. for North Fork and Routt County.

Expect winds to be southwest 5 to 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph and relative humidity 5 to 10 percent.

“Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended,” explains the NWS.

A fire weather watch means that critical fire weather conditions are possible. Listen for later forecasts and possible red flag warnings.
